Where does your water come from?

Caernarvon Township Authority utilizes ground water by pulling water out of aquifers via three Wells within the Morgantown Community.

As an Emergency backup, the Caernarvon Township Authority can utilize an Emergency interconnect with New Morgan Borough Utility Authority to guarantee uninterrupted service to the residents of Morgantown.

How your water is treated

The Morgantown area has a unique geological configuration that provides naturally pure water in the aquifers that only has a hardness in it.

  • The Caernarvon Township Authority treats the water pulled from the Wells with industrial Softeners to bring the hardness level to a tolerable level.
  • CTA also utilizes Sodium hypochlorite to sanitize and sterilize any bacteria that may be in the water.
  • CTA also utilizes Carus 4105, which is a phosphoric acid used to stabilize and reduce metal corrosion and leaching into the water during the distribution process to your homes.
